BUILD STEPS

Floors and panel damping

First step was to insulate the floor. My van came with a nice solid floor, so all I had to do was temporarily remove it, apply Dynamat and some foam insulation and reinstall it. The floor height increased only 1/2 inch.

I used Dynamat to ensure i had no vibrating panels to reduce noise. I applied it to the wheel wells and side and roof panels throughout the van.

Heater & Roof Vent

I purchased an Espar diesel heater and installed it under the passenger seat where is a very common location for the Sprinter. This heater has proved to be very reliable and effective even when camping near 0F!

I installed a Max-Flow fan in the roof above my kitchen area. I run this fan nearly every day even when parked and it has worked flawlessly for almost five years so far.

Electrical

The electrical system took me a while to complete and was the most expensive part of the build.

I purchased Battle Born batteries and Victron components for my build, both I recommend highly. The Victron equipment has bluetooth technology so I can monitor the performance on their app.

In total I have 4.2 kWh of battery capacity, 760W of solar, 360W of charging power from thru the alternator and 3000W of inverting capability.
